Girl Scout Registration

Forms are available through the Service Unit Registrar for returning troops and at Orientation Training for new troops. Girls must be registered to attend troop meetings and attend programs. Registrations are accepted throughout the entire year.

Racial Ethnic Information

Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. have been asked by minority groups to collect information to measure minorities present in the Girl Scout program. An optional racial/ethnic question appears on Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. dues summary form and on local girl and adult event forms.

Main Streaming
Girls with emotional, physical or learning disabilities are encouraged to become members of a troop. The experience can be beneficial to the individual girl as well as to the troop as a whole.

Admission To Troop
A girl who meets or can meet membership requirements shall not be denied admission to any troop because of race, color, ethnicity, creed, national origin, or socio-economic status.

Membership Dues

When a girl first joins Girl Scouting, she (or her parents) pays the cost of her individual membership dues. If a girl is unable to pay these initial annual membership dues, the leader tries to work out a way to help her. She may seek help and advice from the troop committee, the troop sponsor, troop consultant, service unit manager, or request a scholarship from the Girl Scout Service Center. The Annual Membership Dues are sent directly to the national Girl Scout office. The local office does not retain any of these funds.

Annual membership dues are an individual responsibility. However, many troops find it good practice to set aside part of the troop treasury to pay all or part of the annual membership dues of girls already in the troop.

Lifetime Membership - $250
Lifetime membership in Girl Scouting is a symbol of commitment to the beliefs and and principles of the Girl Scout Movement. It is for adults actively involved in Girl Scouting within a council or with the national organization, as well as for those persons who are concerned about girls and their future.

Important Benefits/Services
Every Girl Scout, girl or adult, who joins Girl Scouting pays annual membership dues to Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Membership dues help finance the national organization which provides services, publications, equipment, training and more to the local council and troops.
